About Author

Friedrich Max Muller (1823-1900) was a great linguist and Oriental scholar born in Germany. His translation of the Hitopadesha was published in Leipzig in 1847, resulting in the publication of six volumes on the subject. He also translated Kalidasa's Meghaduta.His list of publications includes the History of Ancient Sanskrit Literature, Introduction to The Science of Mythology and Auld Lang Syne.
